it was pure luck, pure luck, simply pure luck.
I don't even feel all that happy I got in. Sigh...it's just really complex. Like, so what? I don't know. Jeanhui now I know what it feels like. I'm so unhappy. So unsatisfied still.
I didn't even deserve to get in. What am I doing in there??
I'll probably be kicked out even before nationals. I mean, seriously, everyone's improving greatly while I'm stagnant. Or getting worse.
I'm like the worst centre on the team anyway. Nothing compared to them all. I don't think I'll remain on the team for nationals. Just pure luck, pure luck...
Work hard
Persevere.

TEAM SELECTIONS AAAAAH save me someone save me! I'm like scared. SCARED. Haven't exactly been performing real great, in both training and matches. Ack. Like, what the! It's already gonna be July and
my free throws still stink, I still don't dare to schoot when the defender comes up, I can'y qie very well, I MISS UNDERBASKETS, and what other crap?? Please lah, who with this kinda standard will possibly get into the team. Fellow dinos! Jamie, Olly, Yen, JIAYOU!! You guys rock. Sure can do it yup! :D
I bet Mr Ang's super unhappy with how I've been playing recently. And it's true, I STINK AT BBALL. Bah. Uurgh. Eeks. Ack. Yuck. Bleargh. Help me!!!!
I found out that Mr Ang doesn't know my blog. Ahaha. No tags nope. Cos probably I'm not linked in joelynn's blog.
Oh well, I'm preparing to have it all crash down on me at training today. Best wishes to me.
Best wishes to all the sec 2's!! =]
11:36 AM
yo. 1st day of school today. Bah, not that it's been good eh. Stupid lessons, except now. Oh man I love now. Com studs rocks :) Although I wouldn't mind not having it, together with rs and cle, that'll let us go home earlier every day. Personal Exposition. "You shouldn't write like you speak!" "Use a formal tone." BLah blah. School is bad for us. Any volunteers for writing a personal exposition on that? I'll be your fan.
6 people owe me testimonials. Yayy. If they remember to write in the 1st place. Ha. And I owe...nvm. No one :D
Dance prac on Thursday. 630 pm. What a weird timing for me. Like go home for 1 hour to take a chao early dinner, then chiong off again for it. Can we change that repeated step? The swing here swing there one? PLEASE?? And vinna stop suaning me. It aint good making me feel worse yeah.
Fave kuzzin!!! Yay I love you. Really not free on Thursday? bleargh, let's get another day.
Hmm. World Wide Web. WOW!! So interesting yes! What are they teaching us man?!
Was online yesterday for about 1 1/2 hours, without blogging. Didn't have time, went off to watch Spiderman! It's nice. Does anyone have the spiderman 2 vcd?
i never knew what love was...till i found you. and you made my dreams come true, like never before.
Tis post is not nice to read. Sorry but I don't have much to say currently.

We've had 3 dance rehearsals already...the dance ROCKS, well, almost totally. The song "our love is loud" is super great. Very lively and nice to dance to. But I'm quite unhappy and disappointed about the steps...like,
some ppl can't stop complaining that it's too hard and cleo has to go, "we make it simpler, we make it simpler". Like, it's already SO SIMPLE,
not enough is it???!!! It makes the whole dance so MONOTONOUS AND BORING AND DULL lah please! Haiyo! Like, there's so many EASY-PEASY swing here swing there. SO boring if we keep doing it in the dance. And don't know how many times we changed the steps already, to MAKE IT SIMPLER. Really lah, is it that hard to grasp...sigh. Youth Sunday is so near, if only we could have practised long earlier. Was it necessary to hire an instructor? Like my mum said, aunty phine can teach right. SIGH again. Plus, lots of polishing is needed...gotta co-ordinate better, remember our steps better, look less stiff, be more dancy and bouncy. Gah, don't know how we're gonna pull this off well, especially if some people choose to...nevermind.
Did i mention I've got new hairties?? Four colours - ORANGE, turquiose, hot pink, black. From blue 21, bp plaza. So cool. They are nice nice nice! Finally have 1 more hairtie for school, plus the star one and the one my mum just gave me. Couldn't possibly survive for long on the star one alone.
Love's sacrifices. I love that story, from "Stories for a teen's heart". About a girl who wants to buy many nice stuff but she come from a family with 5 children and they all have a low budget. Every time she buys new things, her mum goes," Do you need then?" And she shoots back, "Yes." Then one day as she is preening in front of the full length mirror in her parents' bedroom, she notices their wardrobe. It contains...3 old, worn-out, tattered and torn sets of clothes, clothes she [her mum] had been wearing for years and just as few clothes belonging to her father. It dawned upon her how much her parents were sacrificing for her out of immense love...and she began to see things in a totally different light.
I'm really glad I didn't buy the And1 shoes that cost $99 [but bought nike for $61 instead]. Really glad I rejected both times my mum offered to buy me slippers from ice lemon tee and isetan. Liked them all a lot, but money doesn't allow! I said,
"I'll be happier if I don't buy than if I buy." And was I right :D. Really really glad.
Mr Ang will announce the school team for zone on Monday. Wow,
finally. What a long wait. Scared. I think I really can'y measure up to a single other dino.
Missing underbaskets! Not blockin out! So many mistakes every time I go on court!
Sheesh still stuck for Maths pt. And sill got chinese pt [ind], 2 poems, i yue du bao gao left. Sigh. Goodbye holidays. Welcome back, school.NOT.

things to do list.
relaxing stuff:
+ read [though i currently have no library books]
+ blog
+ go out [where? i have no idea. s'pore's a boooooring place]
+ watch TV [riverdance tapes]
+ practise dance?
+ write 2 poems - "growing up" and "how can we not"
stressful stuff:
x 2 yue du bao gaos
x chinese pt [individual]
x write 2 poems - growing up and how can we not [whether this is relaxing or stressful depends on whether i have inspiration, which i have yet to find!!]
Yup. Not bad. The stressful ones I mean. I'm halfway through my 1st yue du bao gao but haven't started on the other 2. Tried composing a growing up poem twice, to no avail. Inspiration, come to me! And last week I finished the 7-eleven bookmark. Woohoo! Happy:) . Not forgetting the 2 group pt's...but I don't bother.
Why talk about homework now? The hols are ending. Time to do the last bit of relaxing you can, not get more stressed. Aah, see, yesterday I went for dance prac then to Bukit Panjang Plaza to 'see see look look'. That's relaxation! grins.
Dance is FUN FUN FUN!!! So cool. Love it. I liked Cleo [dance instructor] the moment I saw her. Just had that kind of "friendly and can teach well" look. And she IS nice! :D And the dance rocks. Some of the steps are quite funny, but can, I guess. And the dear Chan Yi was full of comments, like, "Oh that looks like a penguin!" Or "This is like a gorilla!" Sheesh her, haha. We learnt around 50 seconds of it, out of 4 minutes. What a long dance. Yay. Wow, it's gonna be the 1st item on Youth Sunday. Oh man! I don't like such stuff. Like it in the middle. And the feeling BACKstage is so nice. HAha. Well onstage...maybe? Had so much of that in p5 and p6. We're only gonna hve 3 rehearsals! That's LITTLE! But we have a low budget so yeah. Hopefully we can do it WELL by then. If not we'll practise on our own after church on Sundays.
The newspapers said that BP Plaza had some renovation, when we went to look it was merely new shops and re-arrangement of some shops. Not much. Looked at almost every shop [that apealed to us - me n my mum], then ate at Mos Burger. Yumyum. Quite weird huh, Japanese burgers. The 1st time I like Japanese food. And we met cherie!! Her mum was like "Hi. OH HI!!!!" Like, took a while to realise it was me. Lol. I always meet cherie there. Since primary school, this has been the 3rd /4th time.
I've got a handphone pouch! Heehee. I mean, another one, not the one I was using at 1st. It's the kind of velvety/silky kind, black in colour. So nice!! :D And I realise that my phone's very very teeny weeny. Compared to Nokia. It's both short and thin. Nice :) But the buttons are so un-user-friendly. Must press super hard. But I still like the phone :)
Oh yes olly i shall heed your advice.
MR ANG PLEASE TAG MY BLOG.My blog font is already very small, so the biggest I can make it is this.
Have training later. No Mr Ang or Mr Ong. Will do those drills we did on monday. They are fun! Just gets boring and monotonous [athena's word] after a long tme doing the same thing.
Vinna when are you coming back??? We have an RS meeting tomorrow, and only Ro and I can make it. I better call Mrs Lim later.
Off to read and tag people's blogs!

my source of everythingLord You're leader of my life
Directing me the way to go
Shine Your light unto my path
The way ahead is what You show
My comforter who calms me down
Picks me up whenever I fall
Soothes me in Your loving arms
You make me once again stand tall
chorus:
You strengthen me when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
I long to hear Your voice Lord speak
It's only You I'll always need
So Lord I thank You for Your love
It lifts me high, high above
This emptiness inside of me
Your endless love will forever be
My source of everything
You give me strength when I fail
You push me onward with Your hand
You press me to reach for the goal
You keep me going till the end
My source of hope when things go wrong
Your bright light shines in the darkness
Gives me strength to rise again
Overcome all odds and leave my fears
*chorus
Your miracles bring tears of joy
Bringing me to my feet in praise
Your peace sets calmness in my heart
Knowing You is NOT A WASTE!
*chorus x2
It's weird that I always get inspiration like
late, late, late in the night. Last night/this morn, i stayed awake till 4.30 writing a story. It's like words just come, then must write before the inspiration is lost, so I refused to sleep. And I wasn't a least bit sleepy anyway. Haven't finished the story though. And that was only a draft. Will ask my aunt to review:) Was in Borders until midnight reading "stories for a teen's heart" and "chicken soup for the teen's soul on tough stuff". Super super touching they were, that's what inspired me to write the story. Something about personal challenge. Reminds me of nyaa camp, lol.
Wow dalton
how do you write so well??? I got this kinda kuzzin. Oh man. Next time he's gonna grow up to become some award-winning world-famous poet/author. So cool! HAha.
Was so sleepy I fell asleep on a mattress in mr grandma's house. Yawn. Gotta sleep early tonight too, long day tomorrow. 4-5 hours of SL then training. And Tuesday not much better, ACP then Youth Sunday dance prac[finally it's starting!!]. Sheesh.
Oh woohoowoohoo! Jefferey Michael! That zaided pianist. Listening to the CD. Yay. This cd inspired me to write the music poem. Whoa, he plays SO WELL!! I would take a hundred years to master such pieces. Not that I've even reached that grade.
I finally activated my phone top-up thingy. So at long last people aren't gonna compaing about how difficult it is to contact me all the time. Hee.
What's the time Mr Wolf?
DINNER TIME!!! *charges forward*

Match against Unity was much better than Anglican. I played BADLY. Messed up. eeks.

Everything's CHINESE! It's driving me crazy.
I got a handphone!!!! My aunt gave it to me. Motorola. Silver colour. The no. very hard to remember haha. Woohoohoo. So wonderful.
We won the last aljunied match. But it was the most points scored yet worse-played game. And we met this SUPER CUTE little boy. Oh man he's gifted. He can speak well. And he said si hui's a boy cos she wore a cap. Then he took it and wore it, we asked him, is he a girl then? He said yes!! wahahaha. And mr ang said "ba qiu fang jin lan" and he went," zhe me ai zen me fang? lan tai gao le!" So cute and so smart!
mr ang has chosen top 16. All will get jerseys, WITH NAME! Yayy. And he said, how you know whether you got into the team is by looking whether your jersey has got a no. on it when you receive it when sch re-opens. 9's mine! Jeanhui, no snatching! Haha sorry leh. But I senior mah :D That means if you don't get into the team, your jersey will only have a raffles behind! like urm! farni.

YAY!!!! we improved SO MUCH from the past 2 games. Managed to get a score of 28? Oops forgot. But anyway, all of us are super happy with the progress we've made so far. Never won a single match, but we're playing more to learn than to win! :)
KEEP IT UP EVERYONE! Yay, way to go.
Yesterday's match against Chong Chee was good. We were all cheering like siao for one another, and it helped keep the morale of the team up throughout the whole match. Our attack improved in that most of us became much more aggressive - guards and small forwards dared to drive in all the way to the basket one-on-one, and make beautiful lay-ups, whether they scored or not [the main thing is they dared to try!! :) well done!] Even centres after getting the ball or rebounding, gan gan shang and we drew many fouls. We are really getting better at drawing fouls! Last time mr ong and mr ang always said "gan gan shang, draw the foul!" We only knew how to
say to do it, but we didn't know how to
do it. But after trying, it really worked! :) Had many chances at free throws in the Nanyang and Chong Chee matches [olly!! Nice job!].
We gotta work on our free throws. Esp me!! Eew yucks, missed 4/5 that day. Ruined everything. Blah. It really helps to score the free throws if we don't get a chance at field goals. 1 point by 1 point, but it's taking small little steps that add up to the final victory:D
I just
love the rgs bball spirit. Perseverance! yeahyeah!
Thanks to Si Hui and Yenny for going down to support us every match too. Your encouragement helped A LOT! And it was great having reviews from a spectator's POV. Our captains rock. Haha.
I need lotza polishing. Oh man, the way mr ang said in one of the reviews about "sec 2s, show me why you should be playing again in july and august" was so scary. The team selections is freaking me out :S
Si Hui!! When you come to my blog, I demand you must tag. Don't say you're too lazy. No such thing. Haha:) Jamie too! Hee. Thanks for coming anyway! Yep, I know my review's chao long. Can beat athena, seriously.

10:11 PM
oh did i forget to say that i MISSED 4 FREE THROWS AND FOULED 4 TIMES. 4 is my unlucky no. from yesterday onwards.
why is my review so long??? i'm beginning to think that i'm simply writing a whole lot of crap, and totally NOT a review. i was never good at reflecting...really don't know how to see the good stuff and bad stuff. that's why i seldom progress. oh well, i'm still giving it a try.
Defence - good points1. we ran back to defend them very quickly this time, so they lost the ball themselves or we even swept it away, prevented them from passing, or made them miss the lay-up/shot. This was much better compared to Saturday, where we just gave up and stood back and watched as they did lay-up after lay-up.
2. Claire and Athena did a rather good job against no. 12, the cutting her left was really good. Yaay claire! Many times, when the game was slowed, we forced her not to lay-up but pass to her team-mate, which really saved us. Double-teaming her worked well also. However...
Defence - what to improve on1. No. 12 did a lot of fastbreaks!! Didn't count, but know that many of Nanyang's shots were cos of her. Our last man has gotta be faster to run back and stop her, and also don't get tricked by her fakes. If possible actually, we should get 2 against her, it will be more effective.
2. urm, i should foul less. Like, REALLY watch my fouls! Be aggressive but in the correct way. [thx jeanting]
3. Faster. MAny times they qie past and we could only run behind them. And the screening they did worked quite a lot, cos we weren't fast enough and didn't communicate among one another, so they drove in quite easily.
I shall stop here. Really, think these are all so wrong. I just
can't do review!!
Bleargh!Tomorrow is aginst ChongChee? Don't know the spelling. Haha hey we're NOT INTIMIDATED right everyone? We can play really well against them, no problem! Hahaha. Nevermind, as long as we remember the mistakes we made in previous games and ensure we improve on them. We're aiming to learn from every game we play! :)
Dark jersey right?
No one has posted any of their reflecions on yahoogroups. So...i'll wait more. Cos I seriously think my review's ALL WRONG! And I gotta add in jeanting's comments too!
Going.
07 June 2005
11:31 PM
I dunno now to start...we lost 27-21, but it was a good game, cos we were
playing up and those who scored in their team were the b div girls, not c div, so we put up a pretty good fight as c div against ppl in b div. Yay.
I gotta post reflections on yahoo groups, and I dunno how to write there, so maybe this shall be my 1st draft. Haha. Just came back from the game at night, so most of it is still fresh in my memory.
Start.
Offence - good points1. We supported one another more to get the ball when it was started at base line when Nanyang did full court press, managed to get past their defence and to to half court. This was better than the game against Aljunied, where we couldn't even get the ball past half court at times.
2. We were more aggressive in fighting all the way to the basket. It was really nice that we, as a c div team, actually were able to
fight against a b div team which was stronger, more skilful and much tougher. Nice job everyone!! Previously we qie jin qu, but at the sight of a defender coming, we didn't dare to go in all the way for a lay-up, then stopped and passed instead. If we just push in strongly, we not only give ourselves a chance of scoring, but can draw fouls as well. In today's game [and even Saturday's game] we dared to do that more, which was good, as Nanyang was very aggressive, compared to us. And we did draw quite a lot of fouls 'cause we dared to take the shot!
3. The rolling among the point guard, shooting guard and small forward, which we practised a lot the past few trainings, was done well today. V-cuts were good, and running out for the ball and receiving it at the correct timing let us control how we were going to attack the basket. Maybe it's because Nanyang's defence wasn't that good, but I think our passes were more accurate today compared to Saturday. This allowed the ball to be passed to centres who posed up, or someone could cut in and shoot, rather than letting the opponent get the ball before we even attempted a shot.
4. We learnt from Saturday's game to calm down, so that when we get the ball during full court press, or during fastbreaks, we don't get all excited and anyhow pass the ball to a team-mate without looking properly [causing lots of interceptions], and we settle down and look carefully at what we're doing before going ahead. This prevented balls to be wasted by mispasses, dribbling and losing the ball yourself, or dribbling into the hands of a defender. We spread out during fastbreaks so that the ball could be faked then passed, and scored. This helped us ba wo every fastbreak we had.
Offence - what to improve on1. COMMUNICATION!! Awfully silent game it was, wasn't it? Very few people called for the ball, so the point guard couldn't see who to pass to. We should avoid keeping quiet and expecting our team-mate to see us, especially when we're empty and there's a very good opportunity to receive the ball. Everyone needs to call for the ball more, and tell one another what to do, eg. cross over, screen, etc.
2. Be more
aggressive!Even though we were seriously
much more aggressive today, there's still room for improvement.
- Once we get the ball, we should turn to face the basket and if we plan to qie, go in all the way no matter what. We cannot afford to qie halfway then suddenly stop when a defender comes up, because we lose a good chance like that. We have to dare to go in strong, against the defender, like Nanyang [esp. no. 12!] and ba wo the lay-up. [Aint I repeating.]
But, it was a very good job today on this part! We did rather well in shooting, 'cause we managed to draw fouls and get free throws[yeah, and i missed 4 of 5. SORRY:( ] We really improved a lot on this already, but it can be better, as always!
- REBOUNDS. Our block-outs were either unsuccessful, or there were no block-outs in the 1st place. The Nanyang girls are very strong and aggressive, so they push us hard, and we don't fight back. We have to be more aggressive in order to go against such teams, or we will constantly get pushed around, literally, and lose our rebounds to their scoring.
-When we get the ball, we need to protect it well, or it will be lost through double-teaming, or snatching away. Once we get the ball, elbow [chicken wing!] our way out of the defender's grasp, and don't let them snatch it easily. This also applies to rebounding - after jumping and getting the ball down, don't turn into the arms of a defender, but elbow your way out
strong and outlet as quickly as possible. Nanyang does it pretty well, which is why we didn't manage to get many rebounds. Mr Ang has shown us before [last Friday's training], so we must use it in matches, especially against teams like SCGS and Nanyang.
I think I could compete with athena for most no. of words in a review:) .
I shall write about the defence another time. Getting sleeeepy. But overall, our main problem in today's match is probably
not being aggressive enough. I mean, we have improved on that but it can still be improved further. It is complicated I think. I'm confusing myself. Anyway,we're like timid little mice compared to Nanyang! That's what my father said. So we gotta be more daring and drive in to the basket strong and commit to the shot, don't bother about stopping halfway cos we shouldn't san the defender, as Mr Ang constantly reminds us. And in all the other aspects as mentioned above as well.
However, we did improve a lot in this game compared to the one against Aljunied. That is precisely the point of having this matches, to give us an experience of playing up [very up!] and continuing to improve every game we play! What's important is that we pick up learning points from each game played, and correct our mistakes the next time round. Improvement in every step we take is what we aim for!
Today's game was definitely one GOOD ONE on everyone's part. It takes courage and mental strength to be playing against a b div team, especially this year's national 2nd, but all of us did it, and did it well! We ought to be proud of ourselves. We didn't get that intimidated by them, but fought all the way, which is what we call
RGS BASKETBALL SPIRIT! We've got it burning brightly in each of us, and let's keep it that way always! :D
Great job guys! Love yall!

WE ARE GETTING POORER EVERY DAY. I realised that the possibility of going -------- is...quite likely. My father said before. Stop thinking I'm "not that poor", or "quite rich actually". Little do you know. Don't talk so much. Sheesh. And it was so nice and
perfect that our fridge, microwave oven, tv remote, and my bball shoes had to spoil just
at this time. Here we go spending money, when we just can't.
I try not to complain, but sometimes it really gets to me. WHY must he be like that.
What's it like being rich?
Which is better? Questions that may never be answered.
How long are we going to live like that. It's not sufficient...not at all. No, we can't go on like that!!! It's been 3 months. Is this going to go on?
I don't wanna imagine. It's hard. But life's like that. As quoted by my mum.
